The Chicago Bears head into this season with high expectations and plenty of storylines. Caleb Williams will be under center with DJ Moore, Rome Odunze as well as the Rookies Coleston Loveland and Luther Burden III as his weapons, and Ben Johnson will look to prove that this team is ready to take the next step. The first half of the schedule won’t be easy, but here’s how I see it playing out.
Week 1: Vikings at Bears (MNF)
The season kicks off under the lights at Soldier Field. Minnesota has one of the most intriguing situations in the NFL with JJ McCarthy. We don’t know what he’ll look like just yet, but he will have plenty of help with Justin Jefferson, TJ Hockenson, and eventually Jordan Addison (though Addison will miss this one due to suspension). Minnesota’s defense is no joke, but if the Bears offense clicks early, I think Chicago takes this one at home. Prediction: Bears Win (1-0)
Week 2: Bears at Lions
Chicago heads to Detroit in what will already feel like a measuring stick game. The Lions lost both coordinators (OC to the Bears, DC to the Jets), but Dan Campbell’s culture is strong, and they’ve built a roster that can reload. Even with changes, Detroit is still one of the NFC’s top teams. I think this one’s close, but the Lions pull it out.
Prediction: Bears Lose (1-1)
Week 3: Cowboys at Bears
The Cowboys come to town with a healthy Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and plenty of offensive weapons. But defensively, they’ve lost key pieces, they’re under a new coaching staff, and Micah Parsons’ future in Dallas is still uncertain. If the Bears defense can contain Prescott, I see the offense finding its rhythm in this game. This feels like a big early-season statement win.
Prediction: Bears Win (2-1)
Week 4: Bears at Raiders
Pete Carroll now runs the Raiders, and I think Vegas will be a rejuvenated team with a new sense of direction. They have built up that offense getting weapons this offseason like Geno Smith as well as Rookie Ashton Jeanty. They also have Receiving weapons with second year tight end Brock Bowers and new free agent pickup Amari Cooper. The Bears can keep this one close, but I see the Raiders pulling out a tight win at home.
Prediction: Bears Lose (2-2)
Week 6: Bears at Commanders
Coming off a bye, Chicago heads to Washington. I still don’t know why the Bears have to go there two years in a row, but here we are. Last season, Chicago had this game in hand before giving up a Hail Mary that shifted momentum and arguably altered the season. This time, the Bears get their revenge.
Prediction: Bears Win (3-2)
Week 7: Saints at Bears
The Saints feel like a team without an identity right now—more focused on what comes next than what they have in place. Unless something changes, this is one of those games the Bears should control from start to finish.
Prediction: Bears Win (4-2)
Week 8: Bears at Ravens
The Ravens are exactly what they always are: tough, disciplined, and dangerous with Lamar Jackson. Baltimore will be in the thick of the AFC race again, and while I’d love to see the Bears shock the world, I think this one goes to the Ravens.
Prediction: Bears Lose (4-3)
First-Half Outlook
After eight weeks, I’ve got the Bears sitting at 5-3. That record would put them right in the playoff conversation, with a chance to make a real run in the second half of the season. If Caleb Williams and the offense continue to grow while the defense holds steady, this could be a very fun year in Chicago.
