Quarterback Rankings You Didn't ask for NFC North addition

The NFC North might just be the most intriguing division in football right now — not because of one dominant team, but because of the quarterbacks. With a mix of young stars, veterans, and one high-profile rookie, this division is about to get wild.
Here’s how I rank the starting QBs heading into the 2025 season:
4. JJ McCarthy – Minnesota Vikings
JJ McCarthy has the tools: mobility, leadership, and a winning pedigree from Michigan. But he also walks into a situation with high expectations and immediate pressure to produce. Yes, he has Justin Jefferson, but he’s still unproven — and there are serious questions about whether his college production translates to the NFL level and we didn't get to see anything out of him with his injury happening in preseason last year. Don’t be surprised if the Vikings try to protect him with a run-heavy approach early on. Right now, he’s at the bottom — but that could change fast.
3. Jordan Love – Green Bay Packers
Jordan Love showed serious flashes last season, and there’s no doubt he took a massive leap. He has the arm, the confidence, and now a year as “the guy” under his belt. Green Bay believes they have another franchise QB to continue their run of guys — and they might be right.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Love is still prone to inconsistency and hasn’t proven he can sustain elite-level play over a full season. His finish last year was strong, but can he do it again?
He’s rising — but not quite top-tier yet.
2. Caleb Williams – Chicago Bears
Call it bold, call it premature — but Caleb Williams already lands at No. 2 on this list.
Why? Because the talent is undeniable. Williams brings a generational arm, elite creativity, and the kind of swagger Chicago hasn’t seen at QB in... ever. Add in DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, and new offensive minded head coach Ben Johnson That’s could be a recipe for fireworks.
Of course, he is still growing in his second year. He’ll make mistakes. But be sure to expect splash plays, national buzz, and — if he hits his ceiling — a real threat to take over this division sooner than later.
1. Jared Goff – Detroit Lions
Love him or hate him, Jared Goff is the top QB in the division right now.
He’s the only one with a playoff win. The only one who’s led his team to a division title. And he’s been the steady hand at the wheel of one of the NFC’s most explosive offenses. Goff has reinvented himself in Detroit — he’s accurate, poised, and in complete control of the offense.
Until someone else takes the crown, Goff wears it. Period.
Final Thoughts:
This isn’t just a ranking — it’s a forecast.
McCarthy has to prove he belongs. Love is trying to prove last season wasn’t a fluke. Caleb is trying to prove he’s him. And Goff? He’s trying to prove that Detroit’s run wasn't because of an offensive coordinator.
The NFC North QB battle is officially on. And we’ll be watching every snap.
