Playoff Picture
I take a break from writing for two weeks and the race to the playoffs got even more intense. Oklahoma put their name back in with a huge win over Alabama. Texas A&M surges back to win against South Carolina and Notre Dame keeps their win streak rolling against Pitt. The Big Ten seems to have two super teams with Ohio State and Indiana while Oregon is close behind. USC keeps their hopes alive with a win over Iowa and Georgia may have taken Texas out of the race. With only two weeks left, there are several teams that are just one the edge of being in or out of the playoffs and these last two weeks are sure to have some fireworks.
Who is Number One?
I think when we look at the top 5 teams, we are all wondering who is at the top. The two undefeated teams have to be at the top of this discussion. Indiana and Ohio State have both managed to topple every opponent they have faced and I think it has to be between these two teams. When these two meet in the Big Ten championship we will get to know the answer to this question.
Group of 5
One of these Group of 5 teams is going to have a shot at the playoffs and with only 2 weeks left there are only a few teams left that have a shot at filling that spot. The first team that comes to mind is San Diego State. They sit at the top of the MWC with a 9-1 record and seem to be on track to win the conference. Taking a look at another one loss team, North Texas has had a great season so far, but they still have Tulane and Navy on their heels, as well as a few other teams in the AAC. So, if they plan to make a push they need to remain perfect these last two weeks.
Week 13 preview
As we head into week 13 here are the games we will want to be paying attention as the regular season is almost over. First up we have 22 Missouri vs 8 Oklahoma, 13 Miami vs Virginia Tech, 15 USC vs 7 Oregon, Pittsburg vs 16 Georgia Tech, 20 Tennessee vs Florida and 11 BYU vs Cincinnati. This week is sure to be full of some great games, but this week does have a few pancake games for some top teams before heading into the last week of the regular season for college football. With the playoffs coming up it is going to be exciting to see which teams manage to make it in with things so close at the end of this season.
